Action Novels that are Well Worth Reading

With so many titles to choose from in the world of action and adventure literature, it may be difficult to choose your next read. Here are three action novels that are well worth reading, and would make great choices for your next book.

First Blood by David Morrell. If the title sounds familiar that’s because you may have seen it at the cinema. Yes, David Morrell’s first novel, First Blood, served as the basis for Rambo: First Blood. Although the screenplay went through a decade or revisions before finally making it to the screen, the novel is still every bit as action packed as the movie and well worth the read.

Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. Although often filled with more biting social commentary than traditional action, Fight Club is nonetheless action packed in its own way. Adapted into a hugely successful movie featuring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton among other notable stars, Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club originated in novel form and is every bit as gripping and compelling as the movie, if not more.

Crucible: A Thriller by James Rollins. The latests release in his Sigma Force series, James Rollins (the pen name of author and veterinarian James Paul Czajkowski) shows exactly why he’s a dominant force in the world of action/adventure literature with the continuation of his Sigma Force storyline.
